No spend July with some antiques

Decided to check out local antique store, just in case they had some stationery. No luck, but it was still vintage heaven. Thankfully it is no spend July so that made it easy, not to mention the prices. Where is my lotto win?!
So here is the tour, stealth iPhone photo style.

1. So many fountain pens
2. Writing table
3. Thimble collection
4. Postcards
5. Teacups
6. That is not the vintage paper I was looking for...

  1. OOOOOOOOO MMMMMMMMMMMMMM GGGGGGGGGGG!!! It's been so long since I was in a proper antique shop that I had completely forgotten the temptation level. Until now! Well done on resisting!

    1. Yeh I think I will be avoiding it for a while. It was all just so lovely.

  2. That is a lovely, if expensive, antique store. I keep searching the few thrift stores we have here for stationery and come up empty handed, too. Maybe I will have to visit some of the antique stores and see what they have. But the minute they label something an antique the price doubles, even if it's really just old junk.

    1. I had been having a fair amount of luck with op shops, but nothing recently. I am sure I have enough paper though for the moment…
Antique does seem to double or triple the price, thrift stores (or op shops as we say), have also gone up in price. Still hard to resist though, in the end there is no way of knowing what you will find, and of course it will probably won't be there the next time you visit.

  3. I can't believe you didn't just sweep those pens into a shopping basket! I will have to look around for an antique shop near me...

    1. Tempting tempting!
There were mostly fountain pens though, and I think I need to practise my writing before I try proper ones. Loopy chicken scrawl to the max

  4. I was silly.... I saw a bureau in a charity shop... should have snapped it up at £25 (the same as 3 full price paperback books).... but didn't as I needed to declutter/make room for it and would have needed help getting it home (OH would have had something to moan about). Went back a couple of days later.... it had gone :(
